In the past few months one of our clients has been going through some changes and that is SurfGrandHaven.com, and we thought it was time to update the website to keep up with all the new upgrades that Mr. Beaton was taking care of on his end.
In late may the SGH webcam stopped working and we were called in to find out what the issue was, and what we found was that the webcam through Earthcam was not working anymore and it was time to replace the system. That however was not a easy task and for a moment the life of Surf Grand Haven was uncertain due to the cost of a replacement. It was amazing how much support came in to help get the camera back up and online. Supporters from all over pitched in for the replacement of the new webcam.
The total cost of all the upgrades which consisted on new 4K Webcam from Earthcam.com and a brand new Weather Station, all came to around $10,000 which was a very steep cost, but again the supporters came through. This is when we decided it was time to upgrade the website, Jasen and I talked for a few hours about new ideas and concepts, but through our conversations we came to the conclusion that we would redesign the site, but trying to keep the same layout and functions the same, which we were able to maintain. The site was ready to be reviewed by Will on August 3rd 2019 and it was the same day and the Untied States Coast Guard Festival in Grand Haven. Will had no idea that we were doing this, and we showed him the site and his first words were “WOW I like it” then later that day we transferred to the new site, and within about an hour comments were coming through with great reviews, it felt good to give back to our community once again.
